Neverwild Book 1 Eyriel
I have created this very rough ashcan "Eyriel" to start a book of short illustrated stories called Neverwild. Eyriel began 15 years ago and kept bugging me to have something created with the original comic boards. Mostly to get the monkey off my back and move on to newer work I created this rough start. Book 2 will come next and so on until I finish the compendium of interrelated stories. for your enjoyment, Eyriel.

NeverWild
I have been noodling a story about a 10 year old who is beguiled into a Forest Preserve and meets fantastical creatures and the story begins. Shown are rough rough concept for denizens of Neverwild. I hope to have time in the near future to bring this short children's book to life.

I realized I forgot to include this first digital coloring of the elf.
I have included the pencil rough and outline inking for an elf illo. Hope you like the process!

Will start digital inking and color
Not sure if I am going to block in color or render the inking, maybe the elf knows.
Hello World!
Creating my first posting to Neverwild, my blog on my adventures in illustration. To start, I love fantasy illustration. All kinds, I have a start to my book Neverwild and here is one of the characters from Ye Olde York Woods. She is a sassy elf witch. Don't know her name yet. Neither does the boy who enters Neverwild.
